Initial Assessment task Evaluation

                                                         
we came up with idea for our promotional as a group we sat in a circle and came up with tree ideas and then we did a vote on who wanted to do what. The ideas where, old TV show intro, glitch (matrix) type and documentary. We then did put our hands up to see who wanted to what and it was three for glitch and one for old TV show intro and none for the documentary so we stuck with the glitch one because we thought that it would be different from others as they would be doing this nice full of life video. where ours will be happy and then glitch to a location that’s in black and white and the sound will be deep and fast and the longer the video went the longer the glitch was on screen. 

The reason we did the glitch effect was so we could keep the viewer interested and it makes want to continue to watch to see what the glitch is all about why have we have put it there like that. We did to show the truth about the college because people think that college is all fun, game and is easy to do when in reality it is not. It is actually the other way around because college actually hard, stress full and cause a lot people panic attacks. You people think that college is for everyone when it really isn’t. Not everyone will make to the end of the year and pass, some people give up half way through and drop out, some make it to the end of the year but don’t even pass so they have to do something different instead. Which isn’t the best thing in the world it’s really hard to take that type of information and it puts people down and makes them depressed. So like I said the reason we did the glitch was so we give people false information make them think college is something it’s not we tell people to be them themselves and to not be someone their not then the college goes and does it, it’s not setting a good example to people it is now.  

We then came up, as a group, with ideas of: what locations to shoot, what angles to shoot, what sound to put in it and who was doing what we did all of this as a spider diagram, we then did a story board to see how and what order to do the shots. I did the camera work and the poster which has a glitch effect all over it even the college logo has a glitch effect, I also got some images off google of the college and put glitch effect on them, then I got normal images and put them over the glitch images at a different angle so it looks the college tried to cover the other images. I said I would do the camera because I had more experience in using the camera.

Another member of the group did most of the editing and I was not told that they took the sound off if I had I would have said to put a sound track over the top because if you don’t have sound the viewer will lose interest in the video. I did help by telling them if it looked good and the technical issues we had was that we didn’t know how to put the glitch effect on the clips so what we did is we went on google and looked up a tutorial of how to do it. 

The skill I have developed are how to do the glitch effect on Photoshop and how to hold the camera better and what angles I could do 

Next time I hope to do the editing so I could put more effects on it and sound so we can keep the viewer interested.
